“the Fight for 15”

This week’s program looks at the “Fight for 15,” the campaign for a $15-an-hour minimum wage, and other locally-based measures to improve the incomes and working conditions for low-wage workers. Paul Sonn is with the National Employment Law Project; the other guests are involved with city- or county-level campaigns to raise the minimum wage, or introduce other reforms (such as mandatory paid sick leave) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Featured speakers: John Jones, Gordon Mar, Derecka Mehrens, Jahmese Myres, Paul Sonn. New Project Censored theme music: “We Want” by Junkyard Empire. This week’s break music: “Praxis Makes Perfect” by Neon Neon.

Broadcast from Berkeley–Hard hitting News and Public Affairs with hosts Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips of Project Censored. The mission of Project Censored is to teach students and the public about the role of a free press in a free society and to tell the News that Didn’t Make the News and Why. This show was broadcast Live on KPFA last Friday.
