Project Censored

Bring Hollywood Home and the Privatization of Education

Sharon Jimenez is the first guest on the show; she speaks about her organization, Bring Hollywood Home, that works to keep entertainment-industry jobs in California, and ensure that state incentives to the industry be made available to small independent producers, not only to big studios. Next, a look at privatization efforts in education. First, Prof. Peter Linebaugh offers a historical perspective on how education has changed over the centuries, and why it should be defended as a public “commons.” Then a look at the unexplained firings of three well-liked math teachers at a northern California high school; a local parent and a student offer their perspectives. Also on the show, a Validated Independent News segment on the “unauditable” Pentagon budget.

Hosts: Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips.
