Peter and Andy look at struggles to keep higher education affordable, using California’s Sonoma State University as a case study. Retired SSU faculty member Victor Garlin recounts a 1996 battle over student fees, in which Mario Savio took part. Then current SSU students Macy MCclung and Patricia Miraz explain a fee fight which took place this year. And community college faculty member Adam Bessie looks at the language and ideological origins of education “reform.”
