Dynamic Duo Weekly News

Today’s Dynamic Duo Weekly News show is shown in the window above.

The Dynamic Duo Weekly News with Kevin Barrett and Jim Fetzer looks behind the headlines and main stream media stories to get at what’s really going on in the world. From violations of international law to initiating WWIII, you don’t want to miss what Kevin and Jim have to say about the stories behind the stories.

Kevin hosts “Truth Jihad Radio” as well as co-hosting “Dynamic Duo Weekly News”, so it is not surprising that he might occasionally lose track. The hype about Robert Gates’ forthcoming book as containing “explosive information” about Barack Obama and his administration appears to be grossly exaggerated, where he even describes Obama’s decision to raid the compound in Pakistan in pursuit of a man who died on 15 December 2001 as “one of the most courageous ever made by a White House” suggests more propaganda to bolster another example of big lies to the American public to promote a political agenda. But the State of Connecticut, shamefully, appears to be doing its best to compete, where a group of scholars (including three Ph.D.s) has exposed the Sandy Hook hoax more thoroughly and in greater detail than ever before. Their “Top Ten Reasons: Sandy Hook was an Elaborate Hoax” deserves to be widely read.

A federal judge in New York has approved that state’s ban on assault weapons even as he rejected the ban on clips holding more than seven rounds, where these gun control measures appear to many Americans to be un-Constitutional on their face. It remains to be seen what the reaction of public will be to the dawning realization that they are being promoted on the basis of what now appears to be a fabricated event at Sandy Hook during which no one died. The former Detroit Chief of Police has even come around to endorse the right of Americans to Indeed, the legacy of anti-Americanism that Americans have inherited from the deceit and deception of the Bush/Cheney administration on the basis of the false-flag attack of 9/11, which was blamed on Arab fanatics but appears to have been carried out by neo-cons in the Department of Defense and their allies in the Mossad, has done enormous not only to those lost in combat and to the national treasury but, as in the past, the US has done immense damage to the countries we have unjustly invaded.

The NSA surveillance program received considerable attention today, where Glenn Greenwald has indicated that Edward Snowden has much more to reveal, including information about NSA spying on Israel. The New York Times has now endorsed what Snowden has been doing, which is sensible since whistleblowers should be admired and revered for taking personal risks for the benefit of the public and the principles of the nation, which it all too often violates or ignores. Bernie Sanders has asked the NSA whether it spys on Congress, but the NSA has already implied as much–since it is spying on EVERYONE! It is distressing that Congress seems so slow to appreciate that it is in the cross-hairs of the NSA as much as anyone else–more, probably, because of its crucial role in the life of the nation. Rand Paul is launching a lawsuit against the NSA for its surveillance, which is a resourceful way to promote the public interest. He deserve support.

While 50 US Senators are supporting a resolution to impose new sanctions on Iran for its non-existent nuclear weapons program if current negotiations do not play out, what they are actually doing is undermining those negotiations. Obama can be expected to veto any such resolution, but it is becoming more and more obvious that Benjamin Netanyahu is pulling out all the stops to defeat diplomacy and that there are at least 50 stooges in the Senate willing to lend a helping hand. Ironically, at the same time these Senators are selling out to Israel, The New York Times is publishing a front-page story about the common interests of the US and Iran in the Middle East. It would be a good thing if we had better informed and more intelligent members of the Senate who care more abut the US than Israel. It is especially astonishing that two Senators, John McCain and Lindsay Graham, are criticizing the Obama administrations foreign policies during a visit to Israel.

Anti-Assad forces are increasingly at odds with one another, which is leading to warfare between them. Hezbullah appears to have taken possession of several cruise missile systems of Russian origin, which should give the Israelis further reasons to resist its impulse to invade Lebanon again. Back in the USA, New York has a new liberal Mayor, which many regard as welcome news. But women’s right to choose is being restricted by one state after another, even though requiring a woman to carry an unwanted fetus to term turns them into reproductive slaves. Even Kevin and Jim seem to have differences of opinion on this question, which we may anticipate will lead to extended discussions between them on-air during one or the other’s radio programs. Tentatively, Jim has invited Kevin to debate the issue on “The Real Deal” from 5-7 PM/CT on Wednesday, 22 January 2014.

New radioactive “hot spots” are showing up on the West Coast, in this case on beaches near San Francisco. Sea life seems to be suffering, where sardines, in particular, appear to be on the wane, with consequences for sea life higher up in the food chain. On the bright side, Cherrios is no longer using GM ingredients, but Congress has been slow to act to restore unemployment benefits. Ralph Nader has written an “Open Letter” to George W. Bush about the damage to America that was wrought by his administration, where he may go down as the most destructive president in American history–aided and abetted, of course, by Dick Cheney, who many believe was the acting president. And Jim observed that an astute follower of the show has explained that the seeming fakery of the so-called “falling man” photograph may be a function of perspective, where Jim believes that, given the standard we expert others to uphold, we want to admit when we make mistakes as well, even if they are not on the order of the national media’s failure to expose 9/11 or the lesser deception known as “Sandy Hook”.
