US airstrikes on Syria and US Power Structure’s Domination of Media

Peter and Mickey open the program with a discussion of the drumbeat for US airstrikes on Syria, and the false picture being portrayed in US media. Professor Assad abu Khalil says none of the warring factions have the support of the Syrian population, and the “rebels” are bankrolled by conservative Gulf monarchies.
Later in the program, Peter and Mickey welcome Abby Martin, host of the RT Television program “Breaking the Set,” for a conversation about getting past the US power structure’s domination of media.

Speakers: Assad abu Khalil, Abby Martin. Hosts: Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips. Broadcast from Berkeley–Hard hitting News and Public Affairs with hosts Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips of Project Censored on KPFA’s morning show. The mission of Project Censored is to teach students and the public about the role of a free press in a free society and to tell the News That Didn’t Make the News and Why. Broadcasted Live on KPFA & No Lies Radio/Pacifica Radio on September 6, 2013.
