Uncensoring our Unhistory: Untold Histories from Pearl Harbor to 9/11 and Beyond

Welcome to the Project Censored Show on Pacifica Radio, it’s December 7th, 2012, the 71st anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks that triggered US entrance into WWII. I’m Mickey Huff in studio with my colleague Peter Phillips. Today’s show we will be Uncensoring our Unhistory by looking at some of our many Untold Histories from Pearl Harbor to 9/11 and Beyond. We’ll speak with Paul Buhle and James Petras for the hour talking about Peter Kuznick and Oliver Stone’s new book and Showtime series Untold History, we’ll hear a clip on related themes from Juan Gonzalez’ film Harvest of Empire. All that, plus a closer look on the changing historiography surrounding the emerging untold history of Pearl Harbor for this 100th airing of the Project Censored Show in the KPFA fall fund drive.

Show Hosts: Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips. Broadcast from Berkeley–Hard hitting News and Public Affairs with hosts Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips of Project Censored on KPFA’s morning show. The mission of Project Censored is to teach students and the public about the role of a free press in a free society and to tell the News That Didn’t Make the News and Why. Broadcasted Live on KPFA & No Lies Radio/Pacifica Radio on December 7, 2012. NOTE: CONTAINS FUND-RAISING PITCHES FOR KPFA.
