Censored 2013: Dispatches From the Media Revolution
Welcome to the Morning Mix, this is the Project Censored Show on Pacifica Radio, I’m Mickey Huff in studio guest co-host Andy Lee Roth– Peter Phillips will be back next week. Today on the program we take a close look at Censored 2013: Dispatches From the Media Revolution just released this week on Seven Stories Press. Over the hour we will be in conversation with several of the contributors to our our newest annual volume of under-reported news stories with added media analysis. We’ll hear about the emerging police state as well as race and gender bias in the corporate media; we’ll hear from several professors and student researchers that contributed to to Censored 2013; and we’ll look at some case studies of media propaganda and news abuse through privatization of education, Gitmo speak, and censorship in Kashmir; and we’ll have some good news stories and signs of hope that people don’t get to hear much about when Sarah Van Gelder of Yes! Magazine helps us round out today’s show.
