On May 2, 2022, a rare leak from the US Supreme Court revealed that the court was likely to reverse its historic 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision, which established a legal right to abortion.
On this week’s Project Censored Show, Eleanor Goldfield spends the hour addressing abortion and abortion rights, including her personal experience. In the first half of the show, she explains reproductive choice as part of health care, and as an essential element of bodily autonomy. In the second half-hour, Eleanor interviews Jessica Pinckney, who notes that even being in a “pro-choice” state (California) does not guarantee that women actually have access to abortion services. They also discuss how providers will adapt if Roe is indeed reversed.
Featured speakers: Jessica Pinckney
Jessica Pinckney is Executive Director of Access Reproductive Justice (www.accessrj.org), a California organization that advocates for choice, and also provides support services for women seeking an abortion.
