With Sweden seeking membership in NATO, a former party leader there says that beneath the country’s professed “neutrality” lies a pro-U.S. tilt, as well as a lucrative armaments industry. Farida al-Abani speaks with Eleanor Goldfield. In the second half of the program, Mickey interviews author Charlotte Dennett; her latest book, “Follow the Pipelines,” explores the pervasive role that oil and gas have played in politics and war, in both the 20th and 21st centuries.

Charlotte Dennett is an attorney and author, and the daughter of a CIA official who died while on assignment in the Middle East. Her previous books include “The People vs. Bush.”
