Mickey’s first guest, independent journalist Abby Martin, provides background to the Israeli bombardments of Gaza,
and explains how big U.S. media strenuously avoid presenting the truth about Palestine.
In the second half of the show, two activist-academics speak about a new book they helped edit, a look at the increasingly pervasive “gig economy,” and the uphill struggles gig workers face.
Abby Martin is the founder of www.mediaroots.org and www.theempirefiles.tv She produced a 2019 documentary “Gaza Fights For Freedom.” Michelle Rodino-Colocino and Brian Dolber are two members of a four-person
team that edited a forthcoming book “The Gig Economy: Workers and Media in the Age of Convergence.” Both teach communications, Rodino-Colocino at Penn State, and Dolber at California State University, San Marcos.
