Why Local Government and Police Need to Resist Covid-19 Tyranny

On May 8 I made a call to the SLO County Board of Supervisors meeting regarding agenda item one: “Update on COVID-19 in San Luis Obispo County and direction to staff as necessary. All Districts.” I only was able to say just a small part of what I wanted to say, and what follows is what I said and what I left out. I reference Governor Newsom of California here, but it applies to many other Governors and State and Federal (so-called) authorities.

It is the local, not state, governments that have the authority to oversee the details of health policy, for only they know their people and the idiosyncrasies of their local community. They know what’s best, not the governors! It is a violation of the principle of subsidiarity for a larger agency to take over the role that a lower agency can do better and is charged with direct oversight. Of course, all these lockdown edicts egregiously violate obvious God-given human rights, as well as constitutionally protected rights. The Constitution is the master law of the land, and the natural moral law is an even higher legal authority. As St. Augustine said, “An unjust law is no law at all.” In the face of unjust laws, prudence sometimes dictates civil disobedience. Prudence dictates this right now.

Gov. Newsom has become a tyrant, acting way outside his legal authority, and has been exercising unjust aggression against the people of California, aggression that is essentially no different than violence against an individual person; as such, we all have the legal and moral right to self-defense of our person and families. This means we have the moral obligation and legal right to defend ourselves against this violence. In this case, this means ignoring his threats and opening our businesses. This means that local governments, health officials, and policemen must also ignore his threats and care for the good of the people entrusted to them.

It is futile to try to comply with his “requirements” because a) they are impossible to meet; b) even if we could meet them, he would change them again (he has shown himself to be a liar); c) they are based upon false data, because as solid eyewitness evidence indicates, many hospitals and doctors are indicating Covid-19 as the cause of the deaths of patients untested for Covid-19, and who have more than likely died of other ailments.

The lockdown and other oppressive strictures do not have the authority of actual law, but are simply edicts backed only by the (real) threat of violence and financial punishment. They are in truth nothing more than bully threats—but if we obey them as if they were real laws, then they will become, de facto, real laws, and he will only turn the screws tighter. We cannot give in to a bully. Fear and ignorance are his only weapons, and we are no longer ignorant! And we must not give in to fear. God is with us.

While doing all we can to help protect those most vulnerable to this virus  (all the non-propaganda evidence indicates that the vast majority of those who get infected with this do not die or even get sick), we must not treat everyone wily-nily as sick and a threat to others! So, we must resist and disobey these lockdown edicts now, right now, when we still can. If enough people disobey the counterfeit authority of Newsom with regard to the lockdown and associated edicts, he and his minions will not be able to do anything about it! If he reacts with more extended violence, well, we’ll have to decide what to do at that point. Chances are that he will be forced to do nothing.

There is good evidence to suggest that the real, long-term purpose of the global-wide lockdown is to destroy the world economy by forced austerity and depression, and the purpose of this to install a control system of political and economic oppression akin to the Hunger Games, including a mandatory vaccine for the purpose of depopulation, surveillance, and economic (social-credit) control (see the “Plandemic” documentary on this). These wicked elites also want to make social isolation, fear of our neighbor, wearing masks, etc., the “new normal,” for it is a kind of emotional and psychological torture that makes us more susceptible to their propaganda and coercion.

Spiritually, we are truly dealing here with wicked powers and principalities that we can’t overcome with mere human power, and so we must above all pray for God’s help and repent and seek to do the Divine Will at every moment. All Christians, and everyone of good-will (or who just don’t want to live in the Hunger Games) must join together in this fight. I am encouraged by the following statement of a few Catholic bishops and leaders, who are calling their fellow Catholics to a worldwide resistance to the evils these tyrants and liars are inflicting on us. The facts have shown that, under the pretext of the Covid-19 epidemic, the inalienable rights of citizens have in many cases been violated and their fundamental freedoms, including the exercise of freedom of worship, expression and movement, have been disproportionately and unjustifiably restricted. Public health must not and cannot become an alibi for infringing on the rights of millions of people around the world, let alone for depriving the civil authority of its duty to act wisely for the common good. This is particularly true as growing doubts emerge from several quarters about the actual contagiousness, danger and resistance of the virus. Many authoritative voices in the world of science and medicine confirm that the alarmism about Covid-19 by the media appears to be absolutely unjustified.

We have reason to believe, on the basis of official data on the incidence of the epidemic as related to the number of deaths, that there are powers interested in creating panic among the world’s population with the sole aim of permanently imposing unacceptable forms of restriction on freedoms, of controlling people and of tracking their movements. The imposition of these illiberal measures is a disturbing prelude to the realization of a World Government beyond all control.

We also believe that in some situations the containment measures that were adopted, including the closure of shops and businesses, have precipitated a crisis that has brought down entire sectors of the economy. This encourages interference by foreign powers and has serious social and political repercussions. These forms of social engineering must be stopped by those with governmental responsibility, by taking measures to protect their citizens, whom they represent and in whose interests they have a serious obligation to act. Likewise, let them help the family, the cell of society, by not unreasonably penalizing the weak and elderly, forcing them into a painful separation from their loved ones. The criminalization of personal and social relationships must likewise be judged as an unacceptable part of the plan of those who advocate isolating individuals in order to better manipulate and control them.
