Obama and Hiroshima — Peter Kuznick

In light of President Obama’s visit to Hiroshima on May 27, Peter and Mickey spend the hour with historian Peter Kuznick, who has written extensively about President Truman’s decision to drop the bomb. The conversation encompasses nuclear history, and also covers contemporary issues, including the U-S “pivot” to Asia, the rise of China as a military power, and the contrast between Obama’s words on nuclear disarmament, and his deeds. Peter Kuznick is Professor of History and director of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University; he’s also co-author of “The Untold History of the United States.”
