EPISODE BREAKDOWN: On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin discusses the amazing achievement by the European Space Agency in landing a space probe on a comet for the first time in history. Abby then discusses the mainstream media’s coverage of President George W. Bush’s new book about his father and how it distracts from the case of several Libyans that were allegedly tortured by the CIA at black sites in Afghanistan. Abby then speaks with host of RT’s “Going Underground”, Afshin Rattansi, about the launch of RT UK as well as other stories affecting the country. Abby then goes over Israel’s new law that punishes stone throwing with up to 20 years in jail, which disproportionately affects young children. BTS wraps up the show with an interview with Stewart Copeland, former drummer for ‘The Police’ about an album he’s putting out with other musicians such as Peter Gabriel that will support humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
