Thousands protest outside the Israeli Embassy in Dublin against Gaza violence w/video

Breaking News.ie – Saturday August 9, 2014

Photo: Up to 5,000 people have gathered outside the Israeli Embassy in Dublin, protesting against the ongoing violence in Gaza.

It comes as Israeli warplanes have carried out 30 air strikes over Gaza today, killing five Palestinians.

Hamas militants, meanwhile, have fired six rockets into Israel.

Fighting resumed yesterday after a three-day ceasefire came to an end.

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity campaign are angry at Israel’s bombardment of the region, and what they see as “a lack of action by Western leaders”.

Spokesperson for the group, Freda Hughes, said: “There’s thousands and thousands of people from all over Ireland at the march, shouting ‘Free Gaza’ and Boycott Israel’.

“People are calling on our government to take a stronger stand and not to be complicit to what is going on.”
