RT Presents Final US Third-Party Presidential Debate

Third Party Candidates Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Thom Hartmann, the star of RT’s The Big Picture and noted radio host, is one of a few select journalists hand-picked to hit the candidates with questions about their campaign in a Live broadcast from RT’s Studios in Washington DC.

The dust has now settled after the last and third and final debate between US President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney two weeks ago and now Americans are left to choose between just two men to run the country. Unless, of course, they turn to RT.

Confirmed political correspondents for this debate include:

  • Thom Hartmann – NY Times bestselling author, entrepreneur, political commentator, and host of The Big Picture

  • Sam Seder – comedian, writer, actor, director, producer and talk radio host
  • Amber Lyon – Emmy Award-winning investigative journalist and whistleblower
  • Maytha Alhassen – journalist, writer, editor and University of Southern California Provost Ph.D. Fellow in American Studies and Ethnicity
  • Matt Welch – editor in chief of Reason magazine

Tens of thousands around the globe watched two weeks ago when broadcasting legend Larry King moderated a debate between the top third-party candidates live from Chicago. As those politicians continue to be shunned by the mainstream media and political establishment alike, though, they remain excluded from presenting their platform to the country on the eve of a historic election. RT aims to make a difference, however, and will host Johnson and Stein to speak their minds on the topics Americans really care about in 2012.

Following the success of this week’s Third Party Presidential Debate broadcast on RT live from Chicago, the top candidates as selected by voters on the Free and Equal Elections Foundation website will move on to a second debate from the nation’s capital, this time answering questions dedicated solely to foreign policy.

“The voters have spoken, and we are pleased to announce that Gary Johnson and Jill Stein will advance to the second debate,” Christina Tobin, founder and chair of Free and Equal, tells RT.

When Johnson and Stein took the stage to participate in the first third-party debate this year, the candidates sounded off on questions that, while vital to the voting public, were absent from the discussions held between President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney during the televised debates that selected only Democrat and Republican politicians to participate.

RT America will begin its pre-debate coverage at 8pm US Eastern on November 5 (01:00GMT and 05:00MSK October 24) with a panel of journalists and commentators including our own Thom Hartmann weighing in on this year’s election. Arguments from the candidates themselves will be underway an hour later.

This is a Russia Today Live Broadcast on November 5, 2012 carried live by No Lies Radio News.

9/11: Explosive Evidence -- Experts Speak Out
by Architects & Engineers for 911 Truth

The 43 technical experts interviewed in Experts Speak Out lay out the case for controlled demolition from their individual areas of expertise in hi-rise architecture, structural engineering, metallurgy, chemistry, physics, and controlled demolition. The seeming implausibility of the implications of the three World Trade Center skyscrapers being demolished with explosives is also handled quite skillfully in the film, as eight experts in psychology discuss the difficulties many people have in confronting the myth-shattering reality. This is a newly released DVD.

Reviews: Excellent Item for Travel, Backpacking, Camping, Etc.

This radio is a great little investment. It does exactly everything it states it should. On a 60 second crank I got hours of play. I ran the radio completely dead by leaving the light on and the radio playing at half column. I let the radio play like this with the light on for at least an hour before it went dead. I then put it out in the sun and let it charge with the solar charger for about four hours and then turned the radio on and let it play for only about an hour and then just didn't want to complete the experiment. I am very pleased with this radio. 60 seconds of cranking for hours of play is very reasonable. Letting it charge out in the sun and getting hours of play is very reasonable. I have other brands like this in the past that you would crank for 5 to 10 and get maybe 10 minutes of play.

The USB charge does work, but know that it will not charge an iPhone 3Gs. This is more a problem/restriction of the iPhone 3Gs (a widely discussed complaint across the Internet for many-many generic charging devices) and is not because of the radio. Charging my old Samsung phone was not a problem.

Capitalism: A Love StoryCapitalism: A Love Story. On the 20-year anniversary of his groundbreaking masterpiece "Roger & Me," Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story" comes home to the issue he's been examining throughout his career: the disastrous impact of corporate dominance on the everyday lives of Americans. But this time the culprit is much bigger than General Motors, and the crime scene is far wider than Flint, Michigan.
