NO LIES RADIO Live 6 Hour Broadcast Saturday from New York City:
__ United Front Against Austerity 2012

Austerity – the imminent, existential threat to the American people. No matter the outcome of the November elections in the US, working families will be thrown over the proverbial “fiscal cliff” in the name of debt and deficits. Cutting Social Security, Medicare and other threads in our fragile social fabric is not only grossly unjust – it won’t work! The so-called “Grand Bargain” threatens to unleash a death spiral of unemployment and poverty which our nation is not certain to survive.

Organizing to defend our economic rights. It is for this reason that we must organize now to mobilize effective opposition to the impending austerity offensive; agitate to shift the burden of the economic depression onto Wall Street oligarchs; and to build momentum toward a genuine political revolution of, by and for the people.

Not a conference – an assembly! The UFAA Public Assembly on October 27 will not be “just another conference” that ends when the doors close. Participants will hear proposals from distinguished speakers, engage in floor debate, and vote on vital strategic matters. The UFAA intends to build on Wisconsin and Occupy – with decisions, demands and action.

Part II – Program and Intervention Debate/Discussion

Eric Draitser, moderator

Proposed planks for discussion:

Our Leading Agitational Demand: A Wall Street Sales Tax, restoring Glass-Steagall regulation, a wealth tax, or some other demand. What should be the signature agitational demand of the United Front Against Austerity (UFAA) to stop vicious, post-election “austerity” measures and restore political and economic balance?

Job creation: How can 30 million new productive jobs be created? Should it be done as part of the federal budget, or by seizing and nationalizing the Federal Reserve System to issue cheap credit for infrastructure and recovery?

Antiwar and economic-industrial reconversion measures: End the Afghan War at once, and bring all troops home from all combat zones. Draw down foreign bases. End drone attacks, renditions, black site prisons, kill lists, and assassinations. Repeal the NDAA and repudiate Obama’s suspension of habeas corpus. Hands off Syria and Iran. No more color revolutions and meddling in other nations. Reconvert the military-industrial complex to civilian production of mass transit, fast rail, energy, and the space program.

Democracy and anti-police state demands: End police brutality and repression. End violence against the black, Hispanic, labor, and protester communities. Stop mass incarceration of black men and others; end the slave labor system of the prison industrial complex. End the War on Drugs against the American people. Shut down the CIA, which runs drugs, and Wall Street, which launders the money.

Other agitational proposals:

  • No cuts in wages, social safety net benefits, or public services; no layoffs or firings, no tax increases on working people
  • Student Loan Amnesty or moratorium/payment freeze
  • Federal foreclosure freeze on primary residences (new Frazier-Lemke Law)
  • Medicare for All (universal quality single-payer health care)
  • 10% interest rate ceiling or national anti-usury law
  • Unlimited unemployment benefits and 99er relief
  • Minimum wage/living wage

    United front interventions:

Immediate projects: supporting the Benton Harbor struggle by means of a worldwide mobilization in favor of Statewide Proposals A (referendum against the Snyder emergency manager law) and B (right to collective bargaining) on Michigan ballot in November 6 election; supporting the anti-Bain Capital struggle at Sensata Technologies, Freeport, Illinois; Walmart strike; propaganda campaign against the Grand Bargain of austerity during the November-December Lame Duck session of Congress.

How can we institutionalize united front cooperation and operations over the coming months?

9/11: Explosive Evidence -- Experts Speak Out
by Architects & Engineers for 911 Truth

The 43 technical experts interviewed in Experts Speak Out lay out the case for controlled demolition from their individual areas of expertise in hi-rise architecture, structural engineering, metallurgy, chemistry, physics, and controlled demolition. The seeming implausibility of the implications of the three World Trade Center skyscrapers being demolished with explosives is also handled quite skillfully in the film, as eight experts in psychology discuss the difficulties many people have in confronting the myth-shattering reality. This is a newly released DVD.

Reviews: Excellent Item for Travel, Backpacking, Camping, Etc.

This radio is a great little investment. It does exactly everything it states it should. On a 60 second crank I got hours of play. I ran the radio completely dead by leaving the light on and the radio playing at half column. I let the radio play like this with the light on for at least an hour before it went dead. I then put it out in the sun and let it charge with the solar charger for about four hours and then turned the radio on and let it play for only about an hour and then just didn't want to complete the experiment. I am very pleased with this radio. 60 seconds of cranking for hours of play is very reasonable. Letting it charge out in the sun and getting hours of play is very reasonable. I have other brands like this in the past that you would crank for 5 to 10 and get maybe 10 minutes of play.

The USB charge does work, but know that it will not charge an iPhone 3Gs. This is more a problem/restriction of the iPhone 3Gs (a widely discussed complaint across the Internet for many-many generic charging devices) and is not because of the radio. Charging my old Samsung phone was not a problem.

Capitalism: A Love StoryCapitalism: A Love Story. On the 20-year anniversary of his groundbreaking masterpiece "Roger & Me," Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story" comes home to the issue he's been examining throughout his career: the disastrous impact of corporate dominance on the everyday lives of Americans. But this time the culprit is much bigger than General Motors, and the crime scene is far wider than Flint, Michigan.
