The Time Out for Peace Plan–John M. O’Connell

John M. O’Connell first developed the concept of a “Time Out for Peace” in 1986. John had been facilitating strategy sessions for corporations and trainings for ‘New Games’ play events with thousands of players of all ages, bringing communities together. While working with the Institute for Conscious Evolution on a project to bring R. Buckminster ‘Bucky’ Fuller to San Francisco for a series of programs he conceived of calling a global ‘time-out for peace,’ as a way to change the win/lose ‘War Game’ the world was playing.

Over the past twenty-five years, the Time Out for Peace Plan has evolved along with changing world conditions and input from colleagues. In 2010 John decided that our global situation was so dire that it was time to take the Time Out for Peace Project public, through the World Peace Campaign, a non-profit 501c3 organization.
