A call to all the Occupy Movements and the 99% across the region!
ANSWER is inviting all its supporters, friends, and allies to join an organized and political direct action contingent targeting these same banks, and their oppressive business practices, that were bailed out at the expense of the poor and working people. Join the ANSWER contingent for the morning action and join us in supporting other actions throughout the day.
Banks, and financial capital in general, spread their tentacles throughout all oppressive mechanisms of the US government. Whether its investing in the military industrial complex, to shackling countries in Africa and Latin America with high interest loans, to financing private prisons for the poor here in the US, to indebting students for life for an education that can’t guarantee them a job, to filling the pockets of corrupt politicians, or foreclosing on families for profit, the banks have robbed billions of people of a future.
What: ANSWER Coalition Direct Action
Where: Meet at Mint Plaza, between Mission and Market Sts. on 5th St.
When: Fri. Jan. 20th, 8am SHARP. Please be on time for orientation.
Call the ANSWER Coalition Office at : 415-821-6545 in order to confirm attendance and support.
Join Occupy San Francisco, labor unions, community organizations, and social justice activist for a mass day of action centered in the SF Financial District involving mass occupation, mobilization, nonviolent direct action and disobedience. We ask people, groups, movements and communities from San Francisco, the Bay Area and across California to self-organize and take action with us to disrupt business-as-usual—either at a bank or corporation where you are drawn to act or at one initiated by other participants.
There will be an all-day orientation site at Bradley Manning/Justin Herman Plaza where people can get information, including where and how to plug into actions, with mobilization times at 6:00 am (Wall St. West starts when Wall St. East starts!), 12:00 noon and 5:00 pm.
We call on the Occupy movements and the 99% across the region to join us.
