Nora Barrows-Friedman Speaks 10/28/10 in Berkeley about her travels in Palestine

Nora Barrows-Friedman

TOMORROW NIGHT, IN BERKELEY! Come hear me speak about Palestine and my chapter on the mainstream media’s disinclusion of Palestine in the appropriate dialectic, featured in the new Project Censored 2011 Anthology. They spelled my name like Norah Jones, but whatever. Maybe i’ll get on the piano and croon, who knows what the evening will bring. 😉 Nora Barrows-Friedman

Title: Norah Barrows-Friedman: Project Censored in Palestine.
START DATE: Thursday October 28
TIME: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists’ Hall
1924 Cedar (@Bonita), Berkeley

Event Type: Speaker
Project Censored’s Empire, Power, and Propaganda Lecture Series continues with a presentation by Nora Barrows-Friedman, award-winning Flashpoints producer on KPFA
She has just returned from another productive trip to Palestine, where she did more in-depth reporting for Electronic Intifada, al-Jazeera, and other outlets. And while she was gone, the brand-new Project Censored 2011 Anthology was published – including her chapter on the top misreported or under-reported stories from occupied Palestine.

She will joined by poet Tiffany Higgins, author of “And Aeneas Stares into her Helmet.” Mickey Huff, the director of Project Censored, will be hosting. And the new Project Censored anthologies will be on sale as well (think xmas/hannukah/festivus gifts)!

Sliding scale $5 – $20 at the door. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Wheelchair accessible
